Manifest Your Wildest Dreams With the 17 Second Rule by Abraham Hicks

Who is Abraham Hicks?

The 17 second rule was made popular by law of attraction expert and celebrity manifestor Esther (Abraham) Hicks.

The basic idea is that it takes just 17 seconds of focused attention to manifest anything you desire.

This may seem like a short amount of time, but Hicks believes that it is all you need to align your vibration with what you want to attract.

In other words, the key to manifestation is to stay focused on what you want, without getting distracted by doubt or negativity.

And definitely no resistance.

While the 17-second rule may seem simple, it can be difficult to put into practice. However, if you can master this technique, it could be the key to attracting all your dreams and desires.

How can I get into a peaceful state to manifest?

When we're thinking about our wants, needs, and desires, it can be tempting to fall into a vibration of lack, desperation, and "wanting energy," coined by Best Selling author, Kathryn Eriksen in her book The Money Tree.

If we want to manifest successfully, we should only do so when we're in a peaceful state, calm and relaxed.

Not to mention happy and thankful.

Here are some things I do to help me get out of the state of lack and into the mindset and feeling of receiving.

Create the ideal space for your brief meditation to center yourself

When you take the time to set the scene, you'll be surprised at how much easier it can be to fall into a quiet state of mind and relaxed physical body.

Okay, I set the scene. Now what?

Choose your affirmative thought carefully.

When phrasing your thought, be specific to make sure it is phrased positively.

You don't want to phrase it in a way that focuses on lack.

The basics of the law of attraction (LOA)

The law of attraction is the belief that by focusing on positive or negative thoughts, people can bring positive or negative experiences into their life.

The belief is based on the idea that people and their thoughts are made from pure energy.

And that through the process of "like attracts like," a person can attract whatever they are thinking about.

So, if a person focuses on thoughts of success, wealth, and abundance, they will attract these things into their life.

On the other hand, if a person focuses on thoughts of poverty and lack, they will attract these experiences as well.

The law of attraction is often referred to as "manifesting" because it is believed that whatever a person focuses on will be brought into their reality.

So, in order to manifest a life of abundance and joy, it is important to focus on positive thoughts and experiences.

Piece by piece, thought by thought, a person can create the life of their dreams.

Can positive thinking manifest my desires?

The power of positive thinking is well-documented.

Studies have shown that people who think positively are more likely to achieve their goals, and that optimistic people tend to live longer and healthier lives.

It only takes 17 seconds of pure thought to send your request to the universe.

That's right. According to quantum physics, all it takes is a brief moment of focused intention to attract what you desire.

17 seconds is the "combustion point"

In Abraham Hicks' "Combustion Point" theory, she states that there is a certain point beyond which a person's negative emotions will no longer have any effect on them.

This point is different for everyone, and it can be reached through a variety of methods, including meditation, journaling, and self-reflection.

Once a person reaches their combustion point, they will be able to live in a state of consistent happiness and peace, regardless of what is happening in their life.

Meaning, their happiness is no longer conditional. (GOALS, am I right?) While it will take work for most to reach the point of uninterrupted peace and bliss, it is ultimately worth it.

It allows a person to live their best life.


How do I choose my thought?

Focus on one desire at a time. It isn't magic. It's science.

Hold that thought so close and tight until you feel tingles throughout your body that radiate your being.

Close your eyes, let out a big smile, and laugh if you'd like.

Combine this with your visualization practice. Practice, and it will get easier.

What if I get distracted during my 17 seconds of thought?

Forgive yourself.

Begin again.

There is no such thing as time.

There is not even a preferred timeline. You can do this. Just focus!

Abraham recommends getting the hang of 17-seconds of pure, undisturbed thought.

Once you have mastered that, practice holding consecutive 17-second thoughts to really keep the magic going.

Thoughts are just one piece of the process. You must take inspired action.

Take initiative for regular self-care. And keep educating yourself constantly to rewire the subconscious mind for positivity.
